Editorial Concept & Visual Narrative
For my Master’s project at LABASAD, I designed CRUDA, an editorial magazine that explores the synergy between humans and nature. I curated real photographic content by @miriaamani, focusing on the Hmong ethnic minority in Vietnam, and structured it to tell a cohesive visual story.
Through my work on typography, layout systems, and prepress processes,
I translated documentary photography into an organic editorial language, ensuring a publication that is both visually compelling and production-ready for print.
Visual Design
The magazine is designed to be visually captivating, using a broad color palette and high-quality imagery to engage the reader and enhance the storytelling experience.
Content Curation
The magazine brings together a curated selection of high-quality photography by @miriaamani., highlighting the daily life, customs, and spiritual rituals of the Hmong community in Vietnam. It balances storytelling with visual impact to create an immersive editorial experience.
Narrative & Storytelling
CRUDA combines visual narratives with textual elements, including an interview with @miriaamani., offering insight into the photographer’s perspective and the cultural context behind the images. The content guides the reader through the magazine in an organic, flowing way.
